The Heartbeat behind the Lens

I am the Elizabeth Moore behind the name. Although, to the masses, I go by Annie. Have since birth. I am a graduate of Maranatha Baptist Bible College, a newlywed to the most adoring husband, a teacher at heart, an ice cream enthusiast, a procrastinating scrapbooker, a die-hard arts and crafts hobbyist, and an avid photographer.  I have taken a couple professional photography courses, and otherwise, learned the art through reading books/blogs/anything in print about photography; and ultimately, through years of practice, trial and error, and experience.

I got my first camera around the age of 10. It was a plastic, purple mess. Since that time I’ve grown through a {junior-high-must} I-Zone Polaroid, an HP point and shoot, and finally, my first DSLR camera,  a Nikon D50. I have since upgraded to my much-loved Nikon D7000. From the gift of my first camera, my love of photography and all it entails has blossomed. Now, I see not just a face or funny action to snap a picture of; but instead, an emotion to catch, a relationship to capture, a moment to freeze, and a memory to secure.

My desire as a photographer is to see through the faces of those I photograph and bring to light the precious belongings of their hearts. I don’t want to photograph mere clients who look at my work as a great piece of art. I want to showcase real people with real laughter, tears, joy, gentleness, and beauty. Real people who are beautiful in the eyes of their Maker.

I had been taking senior pictures for several years, then added engagement sessions, and topped it off with a couple weddings. All of this, as a fun hobby to help out dear friends. But something was missing. A name, a way of spreading the word, a business. Thus, Elizabeth Moore Photography began. I am a photographer transplanted from Ohio and currently located in Watertown, Wisconsin. I'll photograph high-school seniors, engagements, families, babies, and children.
